Registered Contributors
We are seeking nominations from members wishing to play an
important role in ensuring the continued sustainability of HBF.

The HBF Board has overall responsibility for corporate governance
at HBF, including the responsibility to determine, review and
approve policy, practices, management performance and financial
operations.
The Council is the governing body that oversees the Board. The
Council’s responsibilities include electing Board members and
setting appropriate levels of remuneration. Councillors must also
approve changes to the Constitution.
Registered Contributors must be over 18 years old and must have
been a member with hospital cover for more than 10 years. To be eligible to be nominated as an Elected Councillor, a member must be a Registered Contributor.
To ensure conflicts of interest are avoided, nominees must be able
to demonstrate that they, their associates or their families do not
already benefit from an existing relationship with us. Therefore,
employees and providers of health care services, for example, are
excluded from being nominated as Elected Councillors.
In July 2008, the details of the application/nomination process will
be provided to those registered contributors whose applications
have been approved. To become a Registered Contributor and be
eligible to vote at Council elections please complete and return the
Application Form by 15 August 2008.
