Remedial Masseurs, Myotherapists

To be eligible for HBF registration as a Remedial Masseur or Myotherapist, you must practice solely and exclusively in private practice, as stated in our Regulations. You must provide the following:

  • certified copies of an Australian accredited qualification in one of the following:
      • Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT50302)
      • Diploma of TCM Remedial Massage (HLT50102)
      • Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy)
      • Bachelor of Science (Myotherapy)
      • Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree that includes a minimum of 10 hours in remedial massage techniques, 100 hours in medical science (including anatomy and physiology and chemistry) and 100 hours in supervised clinical practice

If you are applying with your qualifications you must also provide certified copies of Professional Indemnity Insurance and Senior First Aid.

OR

  • evidence of current membership to one of the following Professional Associations:
    • Association of Remedial Masseurs (ARM) - Full Member
    • Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) - Full Member
    • Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) - Accredited for Remedial Massage
    • Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) - Full Member
    • Association of Massage Therapists (ARM) - Senior Level One and Two (Accredited for Remedial Massage Therapy)
    • Institute of Registered Myotherapists Australia (IRMA) - Membership Level
    • Professional Myotherpists of Australia (PMA) - Full Member
