General Insurance (GI) Senior Claims Consultant is responsible for the registration, assessment and processing of claims whilst ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Key responsibilities
- Creation of claim details into the system by reviewing estimates, registering and authorising of payments
- Processing claims & recovery
- Determine, negotiate and dispute liability
- Salvages for Motor Vehicles and Home Contents
- Provide accurate claiming advice and guidance to our members
Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to the successful applicant, as well as ongoing personal development through the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
Selection criteria
- 2 years experience within a General Insurance Claims Department
- Demonstrated understanding of insurance principles and procedures, Insurance Contracts Act and Code of Practice
- Demonstrated ability to loss adjust by minimising losses
- Demonstrated understanding of computer literacy with keyboard skills being essential
- High level of customer service skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- High level of oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organise time effectively
