Ancillary Electronic Claiming is here

Great news! Our members with Essentials cover can now claim ancillary benefits electronically.

Electronic claims (e-claims) are available on the spot when members visit a dentist, dental prosthetist, physiotherapist, optical provider, chiropractor or podiatrist (excluding surgery), removing the need for members to complete and submit claim forms.

We are also the first major health insurer in WA to enable dental and optical providers to generate quotes electronically, allowing you to calculate your benefit for same day treatment. 

Look out for our new member cards, which are being distributed throughout April and May. Upon receipt of your new card, which features our new logo, you will be able to make e-claims. Your old HBF member card should then be destroyed.
 
Providers who are currently enabled with HICAPS’ electronic claiming service are equipped to process HBF members’ claims at the point of service by simply swiping the new member cards.

HICAPS can assist providers looking to process benefits faster and more efficiently via e-claims, but manual claiming is still available for providers who don’t currently support e-claims. We are examining extending e-claiming further, to include other provider groups, later in the year.
