Do I need to be injured or unwell to claim Wellness benefits?

No, HBF Wellness pays benefits towards preventative health services and has been developed to help members maintain their health and wellbeing.

Why do I need Essentials or Twin Pack cover to be able to purchase Wellness?

Wellness has been designed to enhance your existing level of Essentials or Twin Pack cover. We want to support your prevention of illness and injury, as well as ensure you're covered for the benefits you may need at times of sickness or injury. 

Can I go to any provider to obtain Wellness services?

No, benefits for psychology, exercise physiology, remedial massage, nutritionist, pilates, reflexology, herbalist consultation and yoga can only be paid if they are accessed through a registered provider.
If your provider wants to register as an HBF Approved Provider, please advise them to contact HBF on 9265 6125.

Can I swap services between groups 1 and 2?

No, the product structure was designed to achieve the best balance between the benefits and affordability. Group 1 items have individual benefits, while group 2 items have a group maximum benefit of $300. Click here for more benefit and maximum details.

What's the difference between a Nutritionist and a Dietician?

Nutrionists advise people about food choices for a healthy, balanced diet while Dieticians typically provide food plans to help people manage their weight; they also have one more year of training in a Post Graduate Diploma of Dietetics.

Can I claim sporting equipment such as sneakers, tennis rackets and cricket bats?
