Visiting an HBF Participating Optical Provider

The new HBF Optical Participating Provider rating scheme means you will know exactly what service and choices you can expect at a particular provider.

The following outline shows you how your benefits apply at each level. Talk to HBF or your optical provider if you’re not sure what benefits you may access or if you need further information about co-payments and out of pocket expenses.

Visiting a Gold Provider

As a member of Premium Essentials, Essentials Plus, Extra Essentials, you are entitled to:

• A choice of 70 different frames models at $33 each with no out of pocket costs from the “Essentials Range”.
• An additional choice of 70 frames at $66 each with no out of pocket costs.

For Premium Essentials, Essentials Plus, Extra Essentials, Essential Standard or Essential Saver, you are entitled to:

• Standard multifocal/ tri-focal lenses (hard coated or uncoated) at no cost.
• Monthly standard Disposable/ Frequent Replacement contact lenses: Up to 12 months supply of single vision disposable/ frequent replacement lenses with co-payment depending on cover
• Permanent or graduated tinting to all spectacle lenses where requested.
• A 25% discount of the Participating Providers normal price on transition spectacle lenses.
• A 25% discount off the usual price for anti-reflective (a multicoated) spectacle lenses.
• Accessories pack containing micro fibre cleaning cloth, lens solution and nylon cord.

Visiting a Silver Provider

As a member of Premium Essentials, Essentials Plus, Extra Essentials, you are entitled to:

• A choice of 70 different frames models at $33 each with no out of pocket costs from the “Essentials Range”.
• An additional choice of 40 frames at $66 each with no out of pocket costs.

For Premium Essentials, Essentials Plus, Extra Essentials, Essential Standard or Essential Saver, you are entitled to:

• Single or bifocal lenses (hard coated or uncoated) with no out of pocket costs.

Visiting a Bronze Provider

 As a member of Premium Essentials, Essentials Plus, Extra Essentials, Essential Standard or Essential Saver, you are entitled to:

• A choice of 70 different frames models at $33 each with no out of pocket costs from the “Essentials Range”.
• Single or bifocal lenses (hard coated or uncoated) with no out of pocket costs.

Please note: Not all lens prescriptions and supplementary services may be eligible at no cost and not all disposable/ frequent use contact lenses may be eligible for a set co-payment. It’s a good idea to discuss your optical requirements with your optometrist or optical dispenser.
