Claims procedure
Making a claim with us isn't complicated or confusing. We've outlined all of the necessary steps for you. As soon as possible after an incident occurs, you must do the following if you are intending to make a claim:
- Take all reasonable steps to prevent or minimise further Loss, damage or liability
- Take all reasonable precautions to obtain recovery of property lost
- Notify us and the Police immediately if your property is stolen or maliciously or intentionally damaged
- Notify us immediately if your stolen property is recovered
- Complete and submit a claim form for our consideration within 30 days, with full particulars of your Loss including details of any party who may be responsible
- Give us details of other persons who may have an insurable interest in the Loss
- Provide us with all additional information and help which we may reasonably require to process your claim
- Assist us to recover in your name any amount paid by us to you from the person who caused you to suffer the Loss or damage
- Provide us with an opportunity to inspect any Loss or damage before you have repairs carried out
- Assist with any investigation of the circumstances of any claim
- Not admit, deny or negotiate any claim with any person without our prior consent or approval
