There is just hours left to register for the first ever HBF Run for a Reason presented by The West Australian on Sunday, 23 May.
Registrations can be made in the HBF Marquee in Forrest Place until 7pm tonight and between 9am and 4pm tomorrow.
While you may need to run down to the HBF Marquee to sign up, you can set your own pace in either the Act-Belong-Commit 4.5km route or the14km Act-Belong-Commit course through the Northbridge Tunnel; you can jog, walk or stroll – or run. Whatever you choose, just don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this special and inaugural event.
To date 9,700 people have registered and it’s hoped the total will be more than10,000 by the time registrations close at 4pm tomorrow.
Already 97% of the $200,000 fundraising target has been reached, going to six West Australian chronic disease charities; Arthritis WA, Asthma Foundation WA, Cancer Council WA, Diabetes WA, Heart Foundation WA and Lifeline WA.
The forecast for Sunday is mostly sunny and when participants are pounding the pavement they will not only be fundraising for charity they will also be taking steps to improve their health and fitness. All while enjoying some of the best in live entertainment.
Every two kilometers along the course runners, joggers and walkers will be kept motivated and performers including samba dancers, fire throwers, stilt walkers and cheerleaders.
Australian Idol finalist Courtney Murphy will be there, performing with his band Murphy’s Lore at the finish line.

Health checks will be available in the Forrest Chase Marquee from 8am – 2pm, tomorrow until Friday or 9am to 4pm on Saturday.
