Community Health Partnerships

At HBF, we’re striving to
lead the way in improving
the health and wellbeing
of everyone in the
Western Australian community.

HBF - improving the health and wellbeing of the WA community

Our main areas of focus are to:

  • Address recognised chronic health conditions, including cancer and heart disease.
  • Encourage the community to adopt healthier lifestyles to help avoid these conditions – such as eating a balanced diet or generally increasing levels of physical activity.

Our partnerships include:

HBF and the Heart Foundation

Together we aim to raise both awareness of heart disease among women and raise funds for research that could save the lives of thousands of women in WA. We support Go Red for Women fundraising initiatives, including Go Red for Women day. We also support physical activity initiatives such as the Heart Foundation Walking program.

HBF and Cancer Council WA

We support a range of Cancer Council WA initiatives including:

  • The Cancer Council Update Series – an annual public information campaign to deliver the latest cancer information to the community.
  • Prostate Cancer Phone-in – where members of the community can call the Cancer Council to have questions about prostate cancer answered.
  • Daffodil Day and Pink Ribbon Day – selling merchandise to raise awareness and vital funds for the Cancer Council WA.

HBF and the Asthma Foundation of WA

We're proud to be the major supporter of WA's largest mass participation cycling event held in March each year. Participants can enter the 60km ride along the Kwinana Freeway, the 30km ride through the Graham Farmer Tunnel or the 10km City of Joondalup Family Ride with all categories finishing at Joondalup. Funds raised go towards the Asthma Foundation of WA to help provide support and services to the 220,000 WA people with asthma.

HBF and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service WA

We support the Australian Red Cross Blood Service WA’s winter and Christmas campaigns. These are two particularly challenging times for blood supplies, so the campaigns aim to increase the amount of people who give blood over these months.

HBF and Telethon

We’re the major sponsor of the HBF Telethon Toddle, which takes place each year at the Burswood Parklands. The event raises money for the Channel 7 Telethon Trust, which supports children and young people in WA.
