St John of God Hospital Subiaco
St John of God Hospital Subiaco offer the biggest and most comprehensive Parent Education service in Australia, to assist in preparing for the birth of your baby, ongoing care and the transition to parenthood. The antenatal classes are run by experienced midwives who will ensure you feel comfortable in all aspects of your baby’s care. A tour of the Hospital's Maternity Unit is included in the antenatal classes. Tours are also held for the general public every Sunday at 2pm. Bookings are essential as numbers are limited, so please contact Parent Education on 9382 6708.

Reception Established in 1897, the hospital has a special focus on providing a warm and welcoming environment.

Pomegranate Cafe The Pomegranate Cafe is located near the main hospital entrance and serves breakfast and lunch. Other catering options are available.

Neonatal unit The unit is a 26 bed nursery providing specialised nursery care for babies from 32 weeks gestation.

Postnatal room The postnatal ward consists of all private rooms, many with double beds. Each room includes amenities and facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

What's covered?
Cover for your newborn
Your baby can be covered with us from their date of birth when you apply for cover within the first month after their birth. Children are covered for free on family policies, so you can worry less about the cost.
Labour ward benefits
All HBF maternity products provide 100% cover for labour ward costs incurred by HBF Participating Hospitals.
Hospital room co-payments
Enjoy the new addition to your family in the peace and privacy of a single room if you are covered with Top Hospital, Healthy Saver Hospital or Smart Saver Twin Pack. With Intermediate Hospital, you will be covered for a shared room. You'll have 100% room cover for the first three days, though you may need to contribute for the following six days.
Members with Ultimate cover will be entitled to a single or shared room in any hospital.
You can even request a candlelit dinner in your room to celebrate this special event in your life.

I am one of the HBF Hospital Liaison Officers and have the pleasure of working full time at St John of God Subiaco.
We are there to provide personal support to our members and their families in relation to their Private Health Insurance. This role is such an important and valuable service and I feel privileged to meet and assist so many members during their greatest time of need. We take great pleasure in being able to take some of the burden away from members, so they can focus on their recovery without having to worry about their Private Health Insurance.
