Standard Overseas Visitors Cover

$24.50Prices based on WA rates for a single premium paid annually by direct debit. A single Standard Overseas Visitors policy costs $1274.40pa, which is equivalent to $24.50 a week.

This is a great value health cover option that covers most hospital treatment but excludes a few high cost procedures like maternity, heart treatment and joint replacements, so the premiums are lower. You’ll also be covered for doctors' visits and urgent ambulance. See the table below for full list of exclusions and restrictions.

NB: This product does not comply with the Department of Immigration & Citizenship's minimum requirements for overseas visitors health insurance under condition 8501 including visa subclass 457.

A few things to note:

  • You can take out Overseas Visitors cover before you arrive in Australia, but make sure the policy begins on the day you arrive and not before. 
  • Waiting periods apply.
