Healthy lunchboxes that measure up

Parents who log onto hbf.com.au/school and submit a healthy eating tip before 12 February have the chance to win one of 10 tupperware lunch box collections* containing a drink bottle, snack cups and a sandwich keeper.

HBF members with children who are off to school for the first time this year were given a helping hand by HBF and the Western Australian School Canteen Association.

To celebrate this key milestone, these HBF members were sent a special kit containing information about healthy school eating, a handy chart to measure the young ones’ growth and an encouraging note from HBF Family Doctor, Dr Duncan Jefferson.

In addition, parents who log onto hbf.com.au/school and submit a healthy eating tip before 12 February have the chance to win one of 10 Tupperware Lunch Box collections* containing a drink bottle, snack cups and a sandwich keeper in a matching bag.

The HBF School Food healthy eating guide is full of tips, including a detailed list of the right ingredients to make a healthy lunchbox, as well as hints on dealing with the ‘fussy eater’ and how to save time when preparing lunches.

There is also information about healthy canteens from the Western Australian School Canteen Association.

“The first day of school is a momentous day, not just for the children, but for the mums and dads of those children,” said HBF Family Doctor, Dr Duncan Jefferson, “Kids need the right kinds of foods in the right quantities to be healthy, fit and do their best at school.  This kit attempts to give HBF parents a bit of a helping hand.”

HBF Managing Director, Rob Bransby, agrees. “Our vision at HBF is to help all Western Australians improve their health and wellbeing; and developing healthy eating habits at a young age is a great foundation for these youngsters.”

Parents can lodge their healthy eating tip at www.hbf.com.au/school before 12 February.
