A small army of personal trainers are bracing themselves for what could be a mass turnout of Perth workers and residents on Perth’s foreshore this evening.
HBF has issued an open invitation to its Spring into Summer free group training sessions taking place at Alf Curlewis Gardens (the Esplanade foreshore park opposite the Esplanade Train Station).
“We don’t know exactly how many people will come to our first session but there’s been very strong interest so we’re preparing for a big turnout” said HBF’s Community Health Manager, Louise Bolt.
“Our trainers are ready for anything and the sessions will go ahead rain, hail or shine.”
People of any fitness level have been encouraged to join in and HBF is hoping that many who come tonight will be new to ‘the exercise thing’.
“We’d love to see lots of people who would normally just head home after work to watch tv,” Louise Bolt said.
Tonight’s one hour session at 5.30pm will be the first of many. The free training sessions will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5.30pm – 6.30pm, with a lunch time session on Tuesdays at 12.15pm – 1pm.
The training will be tailored for all fitness levels and run by HBF’s own qualified Personal Trainers . It is free for anyone, and there is no need to register.
HBF will also be running beginner yoga classes on Tuesday evenings 5.30pm – 6.30pm and Wednesdays 12.15pm – 1.00pm.
HBF members who present their member card during weeks one or two could receive a free training t-shirt – however stocks are limited.
Participants should bring water, a towel and exercise wear. All details can be found at www.hbf.com.au/fitness
