To be registered as a Clinical Psychologist with HBF you must be registered with Medicare Australia as a Clinical Psychologist or be endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia. HBF will download provider files from Medicare on a regular basis for the purpose of registration and will confirm endorsements as required with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Providers must also comply with HBF Ancillary Provider Requirements and practice solely and exclusively in a private practice.

This section of our provider registration site contains information for medical practitioners.
It is not a requirement for medical practioners to be registered with HBF. The benefits for GPs or Specialists who register as an HBF provider are that they are able to submit patients’ invoices directly to HBF using the Simplified Billing system, removing the need for HBF members to claim benefits manually.
This service is available to medical practitioners Australia-wide.

To be registered with HBF you must also maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance cover of at least $1,000,000. HBF will not register teachers who are unable to supply supporting documentation as part of their application.
