HBF names WA’s healthiest workplaces
The HBF Corporate Wellness Index provides a way for organisations to measure the health of their employees and benchmark it against other organisations. It enables them to identify key areas for improvement in the health of their organisations employee base, tailor a program to address those issues and ultimately, impact the health of employees.
The HBF Corporate Wellness Index is comprised of two key components:
- An internationally validated measure of physical health.
- Biometric data including blood pressure, cholesterol, waist circumference and BMI, collected from employees.
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) CEO Kieran Kinsella said the organisation offered an all-inclusive wellness program to support the wellbeing of its staff who work in a fast paced, high pressure and competitive environment.
“Our people are passionate and dedicated about the transformation of Perth. They commit 100 percent to the work we do and I recognise the inherent value in supporting staff wellbeing to achieve this.
The program has seen excellent participation rates across the organisation and it is especially pleasing to see both physical and mental health sessions being taken up, demonstrating our team know the importance of mental fitness in overall health. To be ranked at the top of the HBF’s 2016 Corporate Wellness Index in the inaugural year of the program is fantastic recognition for those who took part and the team behind the rollout.
The benefits also extend beyond the personal, we see interoffice relations improve through shared activity and goals and acknowledge the importance of these programs in the attraction and retention of motivated and talented employees.”
