If you are a Provider in WA and currently have both an AHSA Access Gap agreement and a HBF Medical Gap agreement:

GMF HEALTH WILL NO LONGER PARTICIPATE IN THE AHSA ACCESS GAP MEDICAL AGREEMENT

As you may be aware, in July 2015 GMF (Healthguard) merged and became part of HBF. Since this date HBF has been in the process of integrating the two funds and as part of this process the Eclipse/Fund ID for GMF is changing, as well as the look and feel of the GMF Membership card. All changes are outlined in Appendix A.

A change in contractual arrangements will occur on 13th February 2017, at this time HBF members on GMF Products will no longer be eligible to receive treatment under AHSA Access Gap medical agreement. From this date forward HBF members on GMF Products will be eligible for treatment under the HBF Medical Gap arrangement.

We therefore draw your attention to the following key changes for HBF and GMF Products which will be effective from the 13th February 2017:

    HBF agreement:
  • For Medical Providers who currently treat HBF members holding GMF Products in WA please be advised post the 12th February 2017 the AHSA Access GAP medical arrangement will be terminating.
  • From the 13th February 2017 all HBF (GMF) eligible members in WA on HBF and GMF products will be covered under the HBF Medical Gap arrangement from this date. Please ensure you utilise the reference table outlined in Appendix A for further information on how to bill.
    Billing during transition period (Up to and including 12th Feb and Post 13th Feb):
  • To ensure the correct payment of accounts for claims that cross over this period, HBF will be initiating a transitional arrangement. Please see Appendix A to understand how to bill for eligible members on HBF Products, and for those on GMF Products.
    Information to members:
  • Please be advised HBF members on GMF Products will be receiving direct communication regarding these changes, along with a new member card and new membership number in January 2017. This new member card will not become active until the 13th February 2017, prior to this date the existing member card will need to be utilised.
  • Should you receive any Member queries, that relate to treatment to be provided over the transition period, please advise them to contact our Member Support team as detailed in Appendix A.
    Support during transitional period:
  • If you do have an AHSA Medical Gap agreement (AGC) you will be hearing from the AHSA, otherwise if you have any questions or require more information we encourage you to contact HBF on 133 423 (Option 4) or AHSA on 1800 664 277.
