How do I choose the right level of cover for me?

Comprehensive Insurance is our most popular policy. It covers damage you might do to other cars or property, it includes overall cover for loss or damage to your vehicle. If also covers you if you're hit by an uninsured drive. This is a good choice if you want peace of mind.

Third Party Fire Theft Insurance is a mid-level cover. This is a good choice for budget-conscious drivers, it covers damage you might do to other cars or property and it covers loss or damage to your vehicle by fire or theft only as well as limited cover for your car if you get hit by an uninsured driver (Conditions apply).

Third Party Only cover is the most basic cover with limited cover for your car if you get hit by an uninsured driver (Conditions apply).

How do I choose the right excess for me?

An ‘excess’ is your contribution towards the cost of a claim. Generally speaking, if you’re willing to pay a higher excess when you claim, your premium will be lower. There are four types of excesses. The type of excess that applies to your policy is listed on the policy and the amount of that excess will need to be chosen when you purchase your cover.

How frequently can I pay my premium?

You can choose to pay your premium fortnightly, monthly or annually at no extra cost. You can also choose which day of the month your payment will be processed.

How is my car premium calculated?

There are a number of factors that go into calculating what your premium will be, such as: your policy type; level of cover; where and how your vehicle will be parked; the value, make and model of your vehicle; your age; whether or not your car is financed and your personal situation.

How can I reduce the cost of my premium?

There are a few ways to reduce your premium, such as raising the excess you pay when you make a claim. Generally speaking, a higher excess will mean a lower premium.

Additional savings can be made if your two nominated drivers are 25 years or over, and if you drive less than 10,000 km per year.

What do I do if I am involved in a car accident?

The most important thing to do is to make sure you and everyone in your car is safe. If anyone is injured or needs help, call 000 immediately. Once you are safe and your situation has settled, please call our Claims Department on 1300 133 520. Our team will guide you through the claims process and depending on your policy help organise repairs for your vehicle and towing if required.

If possible, please collect the details of the other driver and witnesses to the accident, including their name, address, vehicle registration and contact telephone number. Also record the time, date and exact location of the accident and take photos of the accident with your phone.
