From 13 February 2017, GMF Health will complete its integration with HBF.
HBF and GMF Health aren’t strangers. We’ve been more closely aligned than many people realise. In fact GMF has been an HBF subsidiary for the last 14 years.
HBF is just like GMF, an Australian owned not-for-profit health fund run purely to benefit members. With over 75 years of experience in the health insurance industry and around 1 million members Australia-wide - you can rest assured you’re still in the care of a well-resourced fund committed to your health and wellbeing.
Just like GMF, HBF are not-for-profit, which means they run purely to benefit members. HBF passionately believe that health insurance is about protecting the health of members, not making profits for shareholders or overseas owners.
With over 75 years of experience looking after the health of West Australians, HBF has become the largest health fund in WA and one of the largest in Australia, boasting around 1 million members. You can trust HBF to look after your health and insurance needs.
Regular physical activity not only keeps the body in tiptop shape, but also keeps the mind healthy too. To help members become active, HBF offer a range of initiatives, like discounted gym memberships, running gear and eyewear.
Focus on services and member benefits means HBF members are more satisfied with HBF as their health insurer. In fact, they have the highest member retention of any major fund and are ranked number one for customer satisfaction amongst all the major health funds in Australia.
As from 13 February 2017 you will become an “HBF member”.
You will remain on the same GMF cover you are on now, and it will retain the ‘GMF’ name e.g. GMF Lite Extras, GMF Mid Hospital.
As part of the integration, there will be changes to some cover benefits. If you have been impacted, all changes are explained in a letter you would have received recently.
There will be no change to base premiums at time of integration with HBF. There may be minor rounding to premiums, subject to payment frequency.
Yes! From Monday 13 February 2017, this change means you can now enjoy a range of additional services and benefits as an HBF member including:
