Rest up and recover with remedial massage cover

With great benefits for remedial massage, HBF extras will keep you well looked after.

What’s the difference between a remedial massage and a general, relaxation, or aromatherapy massage?

A general massage is the sort of massage you might get in a spa. It’s a term we use to describe any type of massage that’s not remedial. A remedial massage is different – it’s meant to manage your physical health and total body wellness. If you’re in pain or need a little help with your aches or injuries; a remedial massage may be able to help.

HBF pays benefits towards remedial massages. We don’t pay benefits towards any other type of massage.

What can remedial massage do for you?

Remedial massage may help treat or manage health problems including:

  • Chronic neck and back aches
  • Work and sports-related injuries
  • Tight or sore muscles
  • Joint pain

HBF products may cover you for treatments including:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Trigger point relief
  • Strengthening & stretching exercises
  • Joint mobilisations and myofascial release
  • Assisted stretching
  • Cupping and dry needling
  • Hot and cold therapy

Where you go matters

It’s important to know that HBF will only pay benefits for remedial massage when it’s performed by an HBF approved provider. So before receiving treatment, check that your provider is listed as an HBF remedial massage provider by contacting us.
