Foot orthoses (also called orthotics) are shoe inserts that help support the feet, improve foot posture and correct any imbalances. These can either be selected ‘off the shelf’ or made from scratch using a plaster cast of your foot.
Foot orthoses can help treat chronic foot or leg problems, including corns and calluses, foot ulceration, tendonitis and recurring ankle sprains. A Podiatrist can help design and fit foot orthoses to your feet.
There are some conditions on Foot Orthoses. In order to be covered, an HBF approved Podiatrist must carry out your treatment.
Please note: This service does NOT include podiatric consults and surgery. They are covered under a separate service, Podiatry – Consults and Surgery.
For more specific information about the limits and benefits covered under each policy, please call us on 133 423.
