HBF is returning $42 million to members who held Hospital and/or Extras cover between 25 March 2020 and 30 June 2020.
HBF provides benefits for one fully covered flu vaccination per year for eligible
members. Before receiving your flu vaccination, check the eligibility criteria below, as you must:
You can check if you’re covered for Healthy Living Programs by logging into myHBF or the HBF App to view your product
sheet. Alternatively, you can call us on 133 423 or visit your local HBF branch.
Protect yourself and those around you with a flu vaccination at a participating
provider near you.
If your chosen participating provider is a pharmacy, you can call to book or walk-in
at a time that
suits you, present your HBF member card and request a flu vaccination. The cost to you will be $19.95.
Alternatively, if you visit a participating medical centre you will need to call and
appointment. Present your HBF member card at the appointment and the cost to you will be $25.00.
You will be able to claim back either $19.95 or the $25.00 in full*
via myHBF or the HBF App.
No. In WA, HBF will only pay a benefit for a flu vaccination received at Pharmacy 777, Albany Community Pharmacy and Guardian Pharmacy Kalgoorlie.
Yes, you’ll need to book an appointment to get your flu vaccination.
If you’re an eligible HBF health member, you can receive a fully covered flu vaccination at Pharmacy 777 in WA. Please check Pharmacy 777’s website for the most up to date information regarding availability.
If you’re an eligible HBF health member living in Albany or Kalgoorlie, you can visit Albany Community Pharmacy or Guardian Pharmacy Kalgoorlie and present your HBF member card to access a fully covered flu vaccination for the 2021 flu season. If you visit either location, you can walk-in at a time that suits you and request your flu vaccination. The upfront cost will be $19.95, which you can claim back in full via the HBF App, online through myHBF or at your nearest HBF branch.
The Australian Government Department of Health recommends that the period of peak influenza circulation is typically June to September in most parts of Australia.

If you’re an eligible member, your flu vaccination will be fully covered. Depending on where you get your flu vaccination, you may be able to claim on the spot through HICAPS which means there will be no cost to you. If you visit Albany Community Pharmacy or Guardian Pharmacy Kalgoorlie the cost to you will be $19.95 as HICAPS isn’t available. You can claim back the amount in full via the HBF App, online through myHBF or at your nearest HBF branch.
The Australian Government Department of Health recommends at least 14 days between a flu vaccination and COVID-19 vaccination. There is no particular requirement regarding the order of receiving a dose of influenza vaccine and either the first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
