How to get started

What to expect at your free Friendlies hearing consultation.

  1. Make a booking

    Book a consultation with your local Friendlies pharmacist.

  2. Private consultation

    In a private consultation room, a Pharmacist will ask you some questions about your hearing. You’ll then complete an online hearing screening — this is where you put on headphones and indicate when you hear the tones.

  3. Instant results

    Based on your responses, an on the spot recommendation will be provided to you. Your Friendlies pharmacist will provide advice and support on the next steps.

FAQs about our Hearing Consultations

The hearing consultation is available to anyone over the age of 18, at all Friendlies pharmacies.

A hearing consultation at Friendlies is free. The cost of hearing aids start from $499 each, with 15% off for HBF and Friendlies members. We always recommend you visit your GP or audiologist before making any decisions on buying a hearing aid. If you’re an HBF member, benefits could be payable on your aids. To find out if you’re eligible, call HBF on 133 423.

If you’re aged 26 or over, you may also be eligible for free hearing services (including hearing aids) through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.
