HBF is returning $42 million to members who held Hospital and/or Extras cover between 25 March 2020 and 30 June 2020.
Here’s how to get an HBF member card - and how they make health claims easy.
Every adult (owner and partner) on your policy will be sent a member card in the mail when you sign up to HBF. It will include your membership number so keep it in a safe place. You can also order cards for your dependants via myHBF.
Many healthcare providers like dentists, opticians, physiotherapists and chiropractors let you ‘claim on the spot’ with your
member card. Swipe your member card and all you’ll pay is the difference between the provider’s fee and how much we contribute
towards your treatment.
You’ll also need your member card - or the membership number on it - to register and login to myHBF, where you can manage
and understand your health policy online.
If you forget your card on the day of treatment, you can still claim via myHBF, the HBF app, in person or by mail.
You won’t need your member card, but you will need your membership number.
You can replace a lost or stolen HBF member card via myHBF or the app.
