Merch you can feel good about
This year we’re pleased to release a HBF Run for a Reason show bag (available to purchase at pack collection only), that is stylish and sustainable! The tote bag is crafted from upcycled past HBF Run for a Reason t-shirts and has a range of special items and offers inside!
We’ve partnered with Loop Upcycling, a social enterprise dedicated to transforming surplus textiles into new products. Their mission is twofold: reducing textile waste and creating meaningful employment opportunities for people facing barriers to work.
When you choose upcycled merchandise, you’re not only celebrating your race-day achievements but also contributing to a cleaner planet and a stronger community.

If you’re looking to join in the fun and start an official team with friends, family or work colleagues, we’ve got a heap of resources to get you started.
One of the best things about creating an official team is the team spirit and extra motivation! Teams can include participants across all three distances and waves, so there’s flexibility for everyone to choose the course that suits them best.

When do HBF Run for a Reason registrations close?
Sorry, entry registrations for the 2025 HBF Run for a Reason are closed as we have sold out ahead of event day
What does my HBF Run for a Reason entry fee cover?
Your entry fee goes towards the costs associated with organising the event and keeping you safe. This includes closing roads and managing traffic around the city, providing you with access to first aid and medical officers across all three distances and the finish line. An event of this size also works with police and other emergency services in the lead-up and on the day all of which are there to look out for you.
The entry fee also helps to cover the cost of items like your HBF Run for a Reason t-shirt, timing bib, providing you with public transport until 3pm on event day, entertainment, your finisher medal, and other items at the finish line like complimentary fruit and massages.
Your entry fees don’t go directly to the beneficiaries associated with the event and the millions that have been raised over the years have come from participants fundraising for a cause close to their hearts.
You can fundraise or make a donation to a charity of your choice – follow the prompts during registration to do so.
Do children in prams have to be registered for HBF Run for a Reason?
Children being pushed in prams don’t need to be registered. However, if you do register your child who will be pushed in a pram, they’ll receive participant benefits like a free event t-shirt and a medal at the finish line – it’s up to you, but the baby event t-shirts are extra cute!
For safety reasons, please note that participants pushing prams must select the Families & Prams category for both the CommBank 3km and Specsavers 12km distances. Prams are not permitted in the half marathon distance.
