How to make a claim on myHBF

Step 1. Login to myHBF

Visit hbf.com.au and select the ‘Login’ link from the top right-hand side.

Step 2. Start a new health claim

From the dashboard, select ‘Claiming’ from the top menu and then the ‘Make a health claim’ link. If needed, you may be prompted to setup your bank account details for your claim benefits to be paid into

Step 3. Add claim details

Answer a few questions about the type of claim you are making.

Step 4. Upload documents

Attach copies of all accounts and receipts. Ensure your provider receipt includes provider’s details, provider ID, patient’s name, items number(s) and is dated within the last two years. Don’t forget to provide us with your Medicare Statement of Benefit document if you are submitting a claim for any in-hospital medical services.

Step 5. Submit claim

Select the ‘Submit claim’ button to submit. You will receive an email to confirm your claims submission.

We process online claims within 7 working days. Once your claim is processed, we’ll send you a letter or an email, summarising the benefit HBF has contributed towards the claim. You’ll then receive your benefit within 24-48 hours, paid directly into to your nominated bank account.

How to make a claim on the HBF App

Step 1. Open the HBF App

Log in using your member number and password you created for your myHBF account. Alternatively, use your 4-digit PIN or fingerprint ID.

Step 2. Select Make a claim

Tap on the ‘Make a health claim’ button and follow the prompts.

Step 3. Add claim details

Review your bank account details and answer questions about the type of claim you are making.

Step 4. Upload documents
