In light of the rise in data breaches, we’d like to remind HBF members that our systems remain secure and your information is safe.
If your Medicare number was exposed in a data breach, this will not affect your HBF membership.
HBF is committed to protecting member information (data), and providing you with information that helps minimise your risk.
We extend our commitment to data security through our entire business. All employees that might be involved in using or collecting your data undergo regular training in cyber security and data privacy.
We constantly monitor our members’ data security with intelligence systems running 24/7.
If you want to add an extra layer of security to your profile, we can add a verbal password to your policy. Each time you contact HBF by chat or phone, we will request that you provide us with your verbal password alongside your 3 points of identification before we may access your policy and make any changes at your request.
As a security measure, we have removed all clickable links from SMS messages. If you receive an SMS from HBF with a link, don’t click on it and contact us.
Protect your personal information

Create strong passwords
Setting a strong, unique password and changing it regularly is key to keeping your accounts safe.
