HBF Run for a Reason sells out again as thousands turn out in Perth

Participants ran, walked and wheeled their way through three courses – Brooks Half Marathon, Specsavers 12km, and CommBank 3km – raising nearly $1.7 million for more than 350 charities. The event was supported by more than 700 volunteers, including 200 HBF employees.
HBF CEO Dr Lachlan Henderson said since its inception in 2010, HBF Run for a Reason has raised over $15.7 million for health and community organisations across WA.
“HBF Run for a Reason is recognised around the country. It’s not just the participants but the volunteers and the friends and family cheering everyone on that make this event a highlight for many people, myself included,” Dr Henderson said.
“This event brings to light so many important stories and I’m proud of the platform HBF has created.”
“The commitment and generosity on display really speaks to the strength of our community. Thank you to everyone who trained, donated, and volunteered their time to make today such a success.”
This year’s highest individual fundraiser is Duke Storer who has reached an incredible $17,404 for Cystic Fibrosis WA. The second highest is Tina Ingraham who has done an amazing job in raising $17,227 for MND Association of Western Australia. Xavier “Doing it for Pop” $10,669 in a big effort to support Dementia Australia.
Leading the charity fundraising is the Cancer Council WA, Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
Donations remain open through hbfrun.com.au until the end of June.
