HBF partners with the Rottnest Foundation

Since our quokka advertising campaign began we’ve worked with the Rottnest Foundation to assist with conservation initiatives on Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) through our workplace volunteering program but we wanted to do more.

What will we be doing?

Works associated with building capacity of the Rottnest Island nursery to support ongoing seed propagation and/or injured quokka rehabilitation. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Internal upgrades of the existing shed facility, currently used for propagating, seed storage, seed treatment and primary volunteer workspace;
  • Establishment of grow-out space for semi-mature trees; and
  • Establishment of additional outdoor storage space for equipment.
  • Our employees will help to:
    • Remove tree guards
    • Plant at a woodlands site dedicated to HBF
    • Clean up sea spurge and assist with nursery upgrades
