When you’re covered by HBF, you receive accommodation benefits which include the fees charged for your room in a private or public hospital. Depending on your level of cover, you may need to pay co-payments.
When you’re admitted to hospital, a lot of things happen that incur costs. 93.6% of hospital charges in WA are covered for HBF members. This means more cover for you if you go to hospital.
Other hospital benefits
In addition to accommodation benefits, HBF members receive theatre and labour ward, medical (fees charged by your surgeon, anaesthetist and pathology), pharmacy (some of the pharmaceuticals administered during your stay) and prostheses (fees charged for any prostheses used during your procedures) benefits.
What our staff say
"I am the HBF hospital liaison officer at St John of God Murdoch and am fortunate to work at this hospital every day.
Apart from being surrounded by lovely gardens and friendly staff, my role is to provide support to our members and their families in relation to their private health insurance needs, claims and general queries. I love the fact this role is so fulfilling and provides such a valued service to our members."
Marcie May, hospital liaison officer
