The partnership will see HBF support the beating heart of the Telethon weekend – the Call Centre – where volunteers take calls from people across Australia donating to support WA children and families in need.

HBF CEO Dr Lachlan Henderson said the partnership reflects HBF’s long-standing commitment to supporting healthier communities and delivering meaningful health outcomes.

“Telethon has an incredible legacy of bringing the community together to support the children and families of WA when they need it most,” Dr Henderson said.

“The Call Centre is a vital part of the Telethon weekend. It is where the generosity of Western Australians comes to life, with people calling in with donations that help fund vital services, research and equipment for children and families across the state.

“HBF is proud to support the Telethon Call Centre and play a role in helping connect people with a cause that means so much to the WA community.

“Supporting initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing of children, families and communities is central to who we are as an organisation.”

Telethon Chairman Richard Goyder AO said the partnership would support a critical part of the Telethon Weekend.

“We are grateful to HBF for its commitment to Telethon and the important work it enables us to do, from funding essential services, medical research and equipment to supporting organisations making a lasting difference for children and families in need across Western Australia.”

In the past year, Telethon has supported 147 charity organisations, funded 299 grants, including medical research projects, and helped purchase more than 3,000 pieces of vital equipment for hospitals and service providers.
