HBF members with hospital cover that provides restricted benefits for Hospital psychiatric services and have served the 2-month waiting period can claim for services provided by Esus Centre up to the minimum default benefit*. No. The high-intensity day hospital treatment program runs for five hours per day, five days per week for six weeks. Patients return home each day to apply newly learned experiences at home, facilitating long-term recovery.

Depending on your suitability, you may be recommended to participate in one of the following integrated services:

  • A high-intensity day hospital treatment program (five days a week), returning home each night
  • Low intensity day programs (one day a week for several weeks)
  • A multidisciplinary outpatient consulting service with specialist eating disorder psychiatrists, psychologists and dietitians where patients are managed under an eating disorder treatment plan
  • A GP medical monitoring service
Esus Centre provides treatments for all eating disorders. The common types of eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
Esus Centre operates a unique, integrated model where all practitioners involved in patient care collaborate together under the one roof. Treatment is provided outside of a traditional overnight hospital setting.
