The CommBank 3km is the definition of community good-vibes. This is where we proudly see mums (and dads) fiercely pushing prams, tutus leaping over that start line, Star Wars characters marching as a family (a sweatier choice) and so much love, resilience, and determination. It’s a wonderful opportunity to embrace a morning of movement, fundraise for a charity close to your heart, or just do something rewarding and super fun. The power of emotional support

Feeling cared for, listened to, and supported (or having your name screamed from a sideline) plays a powerful role in both mental and physical health. In fact, large‑scale research shows that people who receive strong emotional and social support experience lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, alongside better physical health1.

This is all because emotional support helps buffer the body’s stress response by reducing perceived stress, which in turn dampens the rise of that sneaky stress hormone, cortisol. You’ll likely also receive a nice rush of happy hormones standing in the crowd cheering on your loved one/s. Well done you, happy sign making!
