What is the cost for participating in an HBF health support program?
The COACH Program, At Home Alcohol Detoxification, Mind Matters, CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, Osteoarthritis Healthy Weight for Life, and GLA:D are fully covered for members who hold eligible HBF hospital cover and meet the programs’ eligibility criteria. How do I know if I am eligible to participate in a program offered by Esus Centre?
Your local GP can provide a referral to Esus Centre. Upon receipt, a psychiatrist from Esus Centre will assess suitability and discuss next steps with you.
To be eligible for fully covered programs provided by Esus Centre, you must:
- Be aged over 14 years;
- Be deemed suitable by an Esus Centre psychiatrist to participate in their eating disorder programs; and
- Have paid up-to-date eligible* hospital cover and have served the 2-month waiting period for Hospital psychiatric services.
What's involved in the programs provided by Esus Centre?
Depending on your suitability, you may be recommended to participate in one of the following integrated services:
- A high-intensity day hospital treatment program (five days a week), returning home each night
- Low intensity day programs (one day a week for several weeks)
- A multidisciplinary outpatient consulting service with specialist eating disorder psychiatrists, psychologists and dietitians where patients are managed under an eating disorder treatment plan
- A GP medical monitoring service
