National health insurer HBF this week welcomed the appointment of Tony Crawford as Chairman of the Board.
Mr Crawford, an experienced non-executive director and former CEO of DLA Phillips Fox, replaces retiring Chairman Barry Honey, who will step down from the HBF Board on 31 October 2016 after almost a decade of service.
“On behalf of the Board and our members I want to thank Barry for his valuable contribution to HBF over so many years,” Mr Crawford said.
“The organisation has grown significantly in the past decade and we are indebted to him for his service as a member of the Board and as Chair.”
Highly-regarded Western Australian based businesswoman and long-serving HBF Board member, Valerie Davies, will assume the role of Deputy Chair.
The appointments made following the Annual General Meeting, cement the organisation's strategic vision to ensure all Australians have access to a not-for-profit health fund.
“I look forward to working closely with the Board and the HBF management team as we continue to position the organisation on the national stage and achieve our vision to be Australia's third pillar, not-for-profit health fund,” Mr Crawford said.
“Our Western Australian members enjoy exceptional benefits and services aimed at helping them lead healthy and happy lives.
“As one of the nation's largest not-for-profit health funds, we want to offer the same experience to Australians in other states.”
