What is a dietitian and how can they help you?
HBF dietitian Kate Kenny explains a few things you should know about how a dietitian can help support your health and wellbeing:
- “Dietitians have a minimum four to five years of university study and are required to keep up to date within their area of practice.”
- “Dietitians will often specialise in particular areas, so do some research to find the most appropriate support for you. You probably don't want a paediatric dietitian if you're looking to improve your sports performance, for example.”
- “Seeing a dietitian may be helpful if you have a chronic condition or are considered at high risk. Chronic conditions may include diabetes, heart disease or a digestive disorder.”
